About Us

On October 17, 2006 Jessica Quintin was diagnosed with having a cancerous tumor of the parotid gland (the main salivary gland). After a successful surgery and 30 treatments of radiation, she was able to win this battle against cancer with the help of positive thoughts, prayer, and the access to the best treatments available at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

When Jessica describes her experience with Jefferson Hospital she says “right from the beginning, I felt a connection with the nursing staff, my doctor (Dr. Mitch Machtay) and the radiation techs. From my initial consult to my last visit, the staff at Jefferson were warm, compassionate, professional, and patient. They really made me feel like they were on my side, and that together as a team, we could beat this thing!” As a result of this experience, Jessica was inspired to establish The Quintin Foundation.

Together, with her family, friends and many others from her close-knit beach community, Jessica has committed herself to raising money and community awareness for the fight against cancer. The Quintin Foundation’s motivation and fundraisers will benefit the Jefferson Cancer Network at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a group of hospitals in the region dedicated to improving cancer care and clinical research.

UPDATE

On Thursday May 3, 2007, after a lengthy and thorough MRI at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jessica recieved the great news that she is cancer free! Her surgery and radiation was a complete success and she thanks all of those who have been praying for her. She is looking forward to spending a relaxing summer with her husband and two daughters.
